Queen's Park Family Fun Day Photos...

Hello,

 It was a very busy weekend, with lots of outdoor activities happening in and around Swindon. Here are just a few of the photos I took yesterday at the Queen's Park Family Fun Day. The weather was a mixture of clouds during the earlier part of the day then glorious sunshine as the day progressed.  

 As you can tell, I am very happy my gazebo went up nicely-with some help from my trusty roadies-my husband Pete and friend Tim.

 I'm all set up now, just waiting for everyone to arrive. As the day progressed, I had to take the display panel down-the wind started picking up and they began leaning forward and rattling too much. All well, that's the chance you take when you do outdoor fairs.

Crowds began to arrive; some even took part in races-prizes were awarded.

We also had local food, drink, an ice cream truck(which my son loved), musicians and magicians entertaining us as well. And yes, even Elvis paid us a visit. Good times were had by all.

Its been warm and sunny for the last few days so I thought I would take our dog Jack for a nice long walk in our local park. Here are some photos taken using my mobile phone- I couldn't find our camera. I then decided to edit them in Instagram.

First Snow Day in 2013!

We had our first snow fall this year! It caused a lot of havoc yesterday in and around Swindon and other parts of England and Wales. They estimated we got around 4-6 inches of snow, not much but enough to close many schools, delay buses and trains. My son's school was one of the few schools  which were opened in the morning. To my son's horror- he wanted a snow day. But because it snowed throughout the morning, the head teacher thought it would be best to close at midday. It continued to snow all day and most of the night. I took some photos of our winter wonderland.

 This was my son when I turned up at his school with his sled. Was he happy or what?

Rainy Day Photos and a Sketch

These are some photos I took this morning at our local park. I sometimes walk through the park after dropping my son at school. The flowers looked really nice and I managed to pick up some interesting leaves. I thought I might use them for leaf printing at a later date. Here is a sketch I did of one of the brown leaves.

30th September...

I can't believe September is nearly over ( I still haven't gotten over the fact that summer is over-the weather in England was horrible). Anyway, I'm playing around with different photo applications, I did this using TurboCollage and adjusted the colours with Instagram. They are various photo of my artwork and outside shots. Enjoy.

Big Arts Day 2012

Although it rained for most of the day and parking was not possible because of all the rain we've had lately, we had a decent turn out. I was not able to walk around and take photos. But Linda Kasmaty did a nice blog post on the Swindon Open Studios blog about the event.

"The Sun's Out Mummy"

Hello,

I woke up today to my son saying "The sun's out Mummy". Yay!! This gave me a bit of spring in my step- I was even inspired to tidy up the kitchen this morning before doing the school run!

Our apple tree is developing nicely, some small apples are starting to appear.

My son's looking forward to picking them and "sharing the apples with our neighbours"-how cute.
