My Summer...

Hello,

Over the summer I spent a few days in Cornwall, near Land's End with my husband and son.
Here are some photos-
It was bit overcast and cold that day, but I still enjoyed being by the water.
Too cold to go in though :-).

Here are some photos of the garden surrounding the house we stayed in. I loved all the textures and colours. They are great visual references.
This is where I sat to paint.
And here I am enjoying a cup of coffee.
Here are mixed media paintings I did in my sketchbook.

Bye for now.

Happy September!

Hello,
I know its been awhile since I've posted-the last time was back in June. I hadn't planned on taking a break but I got really busy with work and then we were away to Ireland and then Cornwall. We got back 2 weeks ago. These are pictures of one of the pebbly beaches we went to in Ireland.
I also saw some really cool street art in Waterford City.

Here are some pictures of Mousehole Harbour in Cornwall. When the tide came in the water was ice cold!
When we got back home, I know I needed to organise my studio before going back to work. I made piles of books and supplies I no longer needed and they all either went to happy homes or the recycling tip. I even got rid of a bookcase which was falling apart and because I had less books, I no longer needed it and it freed up more space for me. I don't have any before pictures, but here is how my studio looks now.
I was also inspired to give my clock a make over; it not only looks pretty now but it works as well.

Well that's enough from me tonight, I hope you have enjoyed my mini recap of my summer.
Bye for now.

Ideas for Art Cards/Book and My Summer Break...

Hello,
Here are some sketches done in my sketchbook using gel pens, acrylic markers and watercolour paints. I thought I would use them for either Art cards or covers on small handmade blank books.
We will be going away to Cornwall again, this time to Newquay. Hopefully the weather there will be as nice as it has been here in Swindon for the past month or so. I will also be taking a
break from my blog to enjoy the rest of my summer before my son goes back to school and I start a new full time job. Next month I will also be busy getting ready for Swindon Open Studios which starts the first week in September. I will however, post some photos on my Facebook page of any upcoming events, etc.
Bye for now and enjoy the rest of your summer.

July is Here and that Means Fairs, Pop-Up Shops and Markets

Hello,

I will be participating in various fairs and pop-up shops over the summer. This Sunday-13 July from 10-4pm, is Swindon's Queen's Park Family Fun Day. There will be lots for families to do-races, games, or just bring a picnic blanket and relax. There will be musical acts as well as magicians Razamatazz. Food and drinks will be sold and there will be various other stalls, I will have a stall selling painting, prints, drawings and cards. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, but I will bring a gazebo just in case. Wish me luck setting it up as I've never set it up outdoors (I did a trial run in our dinning room area, just to see how to put it together). So if you are in the area, stop by and say hello.
Stay tuned for other events.
Bye for now.
