Its Time for Another Art Challenge...

Happy 1st May!

I can't wait to welcome in the warmer weather again and ditch the coats and gloves. It started to warm up a couple of weeks back, which made me hopeful. But now its back to being cold again here in the South West of England :-(.

From time to time I like to give myself an art challenge in which I make something everyday for a month. It forces me to make time for art, which could be really hard at times. Especially because I work all day and I don't always have the energy or feel motivated or inspired to go into the studio. 

So everyday in May, I will make a piece of artwork in my sketchbook-either a collage, mixed media painting, drawing, etc and then post it on my Instagram page. Once I have a few to show you, I will post them on my blog. At the end of the challenge, I will then hold a giveaway-details to come :-).

I'm calling it my-

Catching Up...

This weekend was pretty busy for us so I wasn't able to make any blog entries, sorry.

I should be on track now, blog wise. So here are some pieces I've been working and some materials I used.

 Golden's Gel Medium, magazine shapes, flat brush

 I started out this piece by drawing with permanent markers and then used acrylic inks for the larger areas.

I then thought I wanted to add more interest so I collaged the leaves cut from magazines on top. I like the way the leaves look like they are "flying" or "floating" on the surface.

I did the same for this piece, except I also added a black stamp to create a pattern.

 Here I did the lines in markers and filled in the shapes with acrylic inks.

I also added the leaves here to follow the "current" of the pattern.

30th September...

Hello,

I can't believe September is nearly over ( I still haven't gotten over the fact that summer is over-the weather in England was horrible). Anyway, I'm playing around with different photo applications, I did this using TurboCollage and adjusted the colours with Instagram. They are various photo of my artwork and outside shots. Enjoy.
