New Paintings!

Hello,

Here's a look at some paintings I started this week. They are based on some collages I did during the last Swindon Open Studios.

I need to wait till the paintings are dry before adding any paper to them.

Inspired by the Cover of M&S' Magazine...

Hello,

I often collect images from magazines which inspire me or peek my interest. Either because of the colours, patterns or images in them. I really like the background in this M&S ad, its a painting done by a Cornish artist named Paul Wadsworth, The colours and the brush strokes are really eye-catching. I found the painting soothing and dramatic at the same time. I did a small painting on watercolour paper using watercolour paints and coloured pencils. 

I added a bit more yellow and orange to my painting; I don't know what I will do next with it- maybe I will paint or collage a model in front of it?? I just thought I would "strike while the iron was hot".

Hello,

I have continued working on the sketches I started during the second SOS 2013 weekend. I decided I would do some work on our dining room table-my husband probably wonders when he will be able to see the table cloth underneath all the scraps of magazine, tracing paper and other art supplies. Here is a glimpse of the work-

SOS 2013 weekend 2...

Hello,

Yesterday was the last day of the Swindon Open Studios 2013. It was well attended overall and I really enjoyed participating in it. I met some really interesting people; some were visual artists, writers and others who just appreciate looking at Art. I was glad we had some children come to look at our work,  they showed great interest and asked some very interesting questions, which is always a good sign.

I look forward to next year's SOS 2014!

If you were not able to catch our exhibition, the work will remain at the Swindon Central Library in their Corridor Gallery till the end of the month.

Hello February

Hello,

Happy 1st February Everyone.

I had an idea to do a nine canvas panel piece. Here are some sketches I did today with coloured pencils on paper. I'm not sure which design I like best, I may do other sketches or combine an element of each of these designs into one. I will choose one to be the background design. I intend to use various techniques like stencilling, stamping, painting and image transfer. I'll show more photos as the piece evolves.

Hello December

Hello,

So here we are...already in December. Have you started your Christmas shopping and decorating yet? We put our Christmas tree and decorations up at home over the weekend, we usually do it around the 1st or 2nd of December. It was nice to have Christmas songs playing in the background as we decorated.

This is an exhibition I'm participating in which will help The Salvation Army.
