Quick Recap of the Swindon Open Studios 2019

Just a quick recap of this year's Swindon Open Studios- 

The Swindon Open Studios 2019 came to a close last weekend.  I'm really glad I did it this year, last year I took a break and just went around and visited other artists. Meeting other artists and seeing what and how they create motivated me to take part again. This year the turn out was a bit quiet, but some of that had to do with the Swindon Marathon taking place on one of the Sundays and wet weather which kept some people away. 

Having said that, I had really nice feedback from people who came to see me and some even said I inspired them, which was great to hear. I had a few sales and gave some demonstrations on creating mono prints using a gelli plate.

Now I need to take a break and recover. But not too long of a break-I need to get ready for Christmas :-).

A Visit to Swindon Museum and Art Gallery

Hello,

I went to visit the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery over the summer to see the art exhibition Connections: An Exhibition by group 7 . The museum's curator gave a talk about the work and about each artist and their inspiration for this exhibition. It was very interesting and I'm glad I went. I took some sneaky photos. If you can make it, its worth a visit. Unfortunately it closes this weekend. More details can be found on the museum's website

Swindon Open Studios 2017

Hello,

The Swindon Open Studios will be starting soon in September. I will be showing artwork at the Swindon Central Library again this year. If you can go around and visit the various artists in their studios or "temporary studios" its well worth it. This year some artists will be available on Wednesday 13th September. If you go to the Swindon Open Studios website you will be able to find out more information about this event including The Old Town Art Trail and The Prize Draw.

Swindon Open Studios 2014-Weekend 2

Hello,

The Swindon Open Studios are now over and the exhibition at the library will come down this Sunday. So there is still time to see it if you missed it thus far.

Here are some sketchbook work I did during the two weekends. I hope to work on them a bit further and put them on canvases. I will post any work in progress as I go along.

SOS 2013 weekend 2...

Hello,

Yesterday was the last day of the Swindon Open Studios 2013. It was well attended overall and I really enjoyed participating in it. I met some really interesting people; some were visual artists, writers and others who just appreciate looking at Art. I was glad we had some children come to look at our work,  they showed great interest and asked some very interesting questions, which is always a good sign.

I look forward to next year's SOS 2014!

If you were not able to catch our exhibition, the work will remain at the Swindon Central Library in their Corridor Gallery till the end of the month.
