My Summer...

Hello,

Over the summer I spent a few days in Cornwall, near Land's End with my husband and son.
Here are some photos-
It was bit overcast and cold that day, but I still enjoyed being by the water.
Too cold to go in though :-).

Here are some photos of the garden surrounding the house we stayed in. I loved all the textures and colours. They are great visual references.
This is where I sat to paint.
And here I am enjoying a cup of coffee.
Here are mixed media paintings I did in my sketchbook.

Bye for now.

Preparations for Swindon Open Studios

Hello,
Over the summer I’ve been getting ready for the Swindon Open Studios. They will take place on the last two weekends in September. If you click on the link, you can learn more about it, the artists participating, as well as where you can visit them. Here is a sampling of some of the work in progress.
These are mono prints on paper.

Studio Update-WIP

Hello,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been really busy with work so didn't have much time to post onto the blog let alone make any artwork. Now that I'm off for Easter break, I have a bit more time to spend in the studio. Here are some pieces I've been working on lately. They are a mixture of new paintings on fresh new canvases and old paintings which I've painted over and reworked.
These started off as mono prints on mixed media paper; I've added more paint and collage onto them.
Bye for now.

In My Sketchbook Lately and WIP

Hello,
So here are some entries I made in my sketchbook when we had all that snow and it was too cold to work in my studio. I really should make more of an effort to work in it everyday even if its for 10-15 minutes. Some of them were old sketches which I reworked and tweaked a bit.
Here they are-
And this is a piece I've been working on for a while but can't seem to resolve it.
I've added some more papers to the background so now just need to let it dry a bit before I continue.
I will update you once I've made more changes.
Bye for now.

Happy New Year 2019!

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to say Happy New Year to you all. I know we are nearly halfway through the month of January already but I've been really busy so haven't had a chance to post anything. I hope you had a good start to the new year. This year my husband and I spent three nights in Brussels, our son stayed with relatives which was nice as it gave us a break. It was a good opportunity for us to practice our French, although most people we spoke to spoke English. Where we stayed was central with lots of restaurants, shops and Christmas markets to visit. Here are just a few photos we took-
I also saw a great Vincent Van Gogh exhibition which is running until 27th January.
Here's a recreation of one of his famous paintings.

I also celebrated my 50th birthday with my family which was really nice.

Now I'm back at work and have also been tidying up the studio to get ready for new projects and hopefully resolve some paintings left unfinished in 2018. I will post my progress soon.
Bye for now.
