I'm happy with this one, I'm really drawn to orange right now. I don't know why, but so far I've used it a lot in the previous pieces. We'll see what tomorrow's like.
For today's prompt-the word was -needlework. Not sure if I'm really happy with it, but it is what it is. I may go back and rework some pieces once the 30 days are over and this might be one of them.
I think I was a bit too worried about the15 minute timer going off and could not free myself and relax. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
I'm always looking at different ways I can stay inspired and motivated to do art. I've followed Rae Missigman for awhile and really enjoy watching her tutorials as well as seeing her mixed media art. Recently on her blog she has started an Art Marks-30 Day Challenge; for each of the 30 days she's listed a prompt which will help get you started. You can interpret any way you like. I decided I would take up this challenge and will be posting my work either on my blog or on my Instagram page. It will definitely be a challenge to try and fit it in for those 30 days, but will give it my best shot. I will be using a Canson Mix Media sketchbook and setting a timer for 15 minutes each time. I look forward to this and hopefully I can inspire others in the process. Please feel free to take up the challenge and hopefully you might enjoy it too. For more information please refer to her blog, I've included a link above.
Happy New Year to you all, I hope you were able to enjoy the holidays and that they were filled with lots of cheer and laughter. I spent a lot of it with family and friends in the UK enjoying good food, drinks, carol singing and catching up on some shows on TV as well as travelling into London to see Rogue One. I've also been organising the studio a bit so I can start painting again and will post some photos soon. For my first blogpost in 2017, I thought I would review some of the things I got up to in 2016.
