WIP Wednesday 9

Hello,
Here are some paintings I've started recently on canvas.
Stage 1- I collaged printed tissue papers on most of the canvases to create a background. I chose them because I liked the graphics and details on them. I then added spots of colour using acrylic paints and stencils. I wanted to give the painting some texture so I used the same molding paste as in my last painting.
After a few days...
Stage 2- I then tore some handmade paper and collaged it over some of the white areas. I've had this paper for a long time and thought now would be a good time to use it. Its bright and quirky, which I like and makes a nice contrast up against the first layer of paper. I then used purple acrylic paint to cover the edges and over some of the printed papers.
Not sure what Stage 3 will be; will have to sit with these a bit more and see where they take me.
Bye for now.

Happy Valentine's Day Prints

Hello,
Here are some heart inspired mixed media prints. I used acrylic paints, acrylic inks and oil pastels non-wax baking paper. The hearts and cherubs were done using foam stamps. I also stenciled on top of the prints using heart shaped cutouts.
Enjoy!
Bye for now.

WIP-Grey Butterfly Update...

Hello,
I did a bit of work on this painting recently. The last time you saw it, it was lacking a bit of colour.

The royal blue areas are created with a stencil. To add texture I mixed acrylic paint with Golden Molding Paste. Here is a close up-
The pink areas also have molding paste mixed with acrylic paints and acrylic inks.
I will let it dry and sit with it some more before I declare it "finished".
Bye for now.
